The worst tweet I've ever seen
Maybe we should compile more? Vol. - 26
It’s Wednesday, and I woke up earlier than usual; today is shaping up to be a great day. I’m currently working, but I’m taking some time away from my other desk to finish my newsletter for Dusk. Then after I clock out, I’m going to see the already legendary outfit 707s play at the newly renamed Disco Inferno. A screenshot of a tweet from a credible oldhead was being reposted on Instagram like wildfire showing the entrance of the venue mentioned above. I would like to compile some information on it because I’ve been attending and even playing shows there for a few years and it’s been there long before me. So many bands have passed through, and it’s gone through many name changes keeping it elusive. It has even crossed into multiple Phoenix communities as it has welcomed punks, ravers, and hardcore enjoyers of all elk. There are even other legendary tenants that neighbor the small storage unit.
I was recently chatting with the CEO of Possessed: The Fanzine for Slackers and Haters, and they even had an exciting story of having been on tour from San Diego and was a guest of this spot. He told a story of needing to piss and trying to do so by the electrical boxes but was greeted by an old fella with a pistol on his hip telling him to do otherwise. I know it as Wall Street or Cricket Pavillion, but to others, it’s known by other names.
A storage unit tucked away in a tranquil warehouse district of the most eastern part of Phoenix, there are many stories to tell, but none of them are mine, so I will leave them for others to do so. Maybe someone should reach out to those involved to compile a timeline to share the whole and complete story of Disco Inferno, but for now, I will leave it where it belongs, to those who know and for others to find out.
